Insurance Coverage for Focusd Ultrasound Surgery

Although most insurance companies are now covering Focused Ultrasound surgery on a nationwide basis, every patient’s plan must be looked at independently.  As a result, focusUS works with you, the patient, to determine what, if any, amount is covered under your insurance plan.  Our experience in reimbursements allows us to help you every step of the way.  In the event total reimbursement is not available, our patient coordinators will also help you determine the best course of action to cover any remaining amount to make this process as easy as possible.

As a general rule, the following steps greatly enhance the chances of gaining acceptance from those plans not yet covering this procedure.

1. Contact your employer/union and ask them to consider offering MR guided Focused Ultrasound (MRgFUS) as a covered benefit.
   
   
2. Contact your insurance company to ask them to consider offering MRgFUS as a covered benefit.
   
   
3. Request pre-authorization for Focused Ultrasound surgery.
